Blessed Are the Peacemakers

Matthew 5:9

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

NIV

Peacemakers, not peacekeepers. The difference is profound. Peacekeeping avoids conflict at any cost, often through silence or complicity. Peacemaking actively creates shalom, wholeness, right relationship. It sometimes requires difficult conversations, truth-telling, and costly reconciliation. Peacemakers are called children of God because they reflect the Father who made peace through the blood of His Son. Peace cost Jesus everything. It may cost us something too. Where is God calling you to make peace?

Ponder This

Where am I keeping false peace instead of making true peace?

Today's Practice

Identify one relationship needing reconciliation. Take one step toward true peace today.

Speak This Truth

I am called to make peace, not just keep it.
